Congratulations to the six writers who have made it to the next stage of the Script Hot House programme.

They are Dan Allum, Colleen Burns, Ed Granger, Michelle Lipton, Stephanie Van Driel, Lynda Williams.

These six will receive mentoring through the process of completing their feature script.

Commiserations to those that didn't get to the next stage but hopefully the input from the programme to date has been helpful.

Writing the Movies

I would have liked to do this course myself, even though I am not strictly speaking a writer. But I do write, and I do have stories in my head. And the course seemed as though it would encourage someone like me to put pen to paper. Maybe.

But I didn't go in the end as it all sold out really quickly while I was still debating the idea. One minute it had 10 places left and the next it was all sold out. Which is great, as 21 people were able to benefit from the experience of tutors Michael Lengsfield Christabelle Dilks and Ian Nettleton. It was great value too, for £100 for two full days.

The feedback has been very good so far and I am looking forward to getting a bit more detail. I am sure that there will be more in the future so keep an eye out for more dates.

The open meeting at The Curve at The Forum on 7 August  2012 was very successful with over 80 people turning up to find out more about write2screen. With drinks both before and after, the group buzz really got going with a lot of good connections made already.

There has been a steady stream of people joining up since then and now that the summer holiday are over we can start cracking on with our next events.

There were helpful suggestions about what write2screen could help to develop and we are taking those onboard so keep an eye out for developments. Please encourage people to sign up via the form on the website.
