Advance notice: Script Hot House - A new development programme for writers
We are in the process of planning a development programme for screen writers throughout the Eastern region. The aim is to identify new writers with a distinctive voice and an ability to write for the screen. The development programme will deliver advice and mentoring from experienced industry professionals to promising writers and help the very best access decision makers and producers.
We will be launching the programme formally in the next few weeks with details on how to apply and how the programme will work but this is to let you know that we will be asking for applications with a proposed deadline of 31 May 2013. To benefit from this opportunity you will need to submit a story outline and be ready to send in some pages of a draft script.
NB Please note that there has been a delay in the timescale of the Hothouse development programme but it will launch very soon with a revised deadline so please keep an eye out on this site for an announcement. If you have signed up via our contact form you will receive an email to let you know when it is going live.

Opportunity to make a short film for Hoi Polloi Theatre - Cambridge
“Things I Forgot I Remembered “: A Hugh Hughes theatre project taking place on Anglesey in June.
Hoi Polloi are looking for an enthusiastic filmmaker to “ come and document the great variety of events that will come together under the project banner ‘Things I Forgot I Remembered “
You’ll need to 'make decisions about what needs to be captured and how, capture it and then to edit the footage into a ninety second trailer and potentially a slightly longer film (approx five minutes) that shows the breadth of the event. The events include a stage show, a storywalk around a small town, a live music gig in the woods, a trail of storyboxes across the island, an online audio map and various screenings, so we’d love to bring someone into the heart of the team for a few days to capture the project. '
Timing is mid-June – location is Anglesey. If you are interested in finding out more please contact Bianca Winter at Hoipolloi on 01223 322748 and visit their website hoipolloi.org.uk
