In 2012, Lucy Ward of Wavelength Films was given some seed funding by Creative England to develop a writing/screen-based hub in the eastern region to address the gap left by the dissolution of the screen agencies across the country. The write2screen network was set up as a free-to-join connecting group and now has over 300 members in the eastern region.
